Exciting, but distressing news, friends! Quarter-Life Crisis, everyone (well, my) favourite Toronto-based post-apocalyptic comic book is being taught at the University of Toronto, Scarborough campus this Spring!
The excellent instructor (and fine poet) Daniel Scott Tysdal has placed Quarter-Life Crisis: Only the Good Die Yung on his third-year graphic novel course. The work of yours truly will be taught alongside the likes of Charles Burns and Lynda Barry. (Hacks.) And even better news, I’ll be going in to talk to the 200-odd students in the course on Valentine’s Day (February 14), so they can witness, first-hand, just how poorly I measure up to the other creators on the course list! UTSC graphic novel class, this year I’ll be all of your Valentine!
Seriously, I’m honoured to be taught in the course. But I’ll need some suggestions on what to say and do. Do I find the biggest guy in the class and break his nose? Or does that only work in prison?
